Last week, HF attended this year’s ALIS conference in LA. Thank you to everyone at the event who gave us the opportunity to present what we’ve brought to the hotel hospitality industry and share what we can achieve with our vision.
ALIS Tech Challenge
This year, I had the pleasure of participating in the Tech Challenge alongside a number of industry solutions, from a payment solution that allows staff to be paid daily (Optimal Partners) to improved reservation systems (CloudBeds), easy-to-implement energy-saving products for hotel rooms (Mesa by Sidewalk Labs), a virtual reception kiosk for an increasingly touchless world (Virdee), and building design technology (Parafin).
I took the opportunity to announce our latest digital product, the HF Marketplace. It is a quick and easy solution for hotel owners and management companies who are looking to replace old or broken FF&E or simply upgrade their hotel spaces with a few individual furniture pieces. It allows for one-time projects without the need to invest a great amount of time and money in full room renovations. Check it out if you haven’t already!
There was overwhelmingly positive feedback, and I enjoyed many coming up to us after the presentation to see how they could implement HotelFurniture.com in their current operations.
Understanding where the industry is headed in the year 2022 is top of mind for many industry leaders and hotel managers. We were able to learn about some of the struggles and obstacles from hotel owners who addressed this issue during a panel hosted by Hotel Business in their daily wrap-up. Two of the most important challenges mentioned were workforce and inflation.
Larry Cuculic, President/CEO of BWH Hotel Group, has expressed that, “When I ask our members how many of them have made beds in their hotels in the last year and a half, they all raise their hands.” When Jeff Wagoner, President/CEO of Outrigger Hotels & Resorts based in Hawaii was asked about the challenges he has had to face, he mentioned that, “Inflation truly is something that we’re all going to be wrestling with for some time,” he said. “I think there are plenty of examples of inflation and how it is going to affect us, and I don’t think it is going to go away.”
All in all, we had the most wonderful time connecting with hotel owners, management companies, financing and equity companies, as well as reconnecting with existing partners and networks. Thank you to ALIS conference once again for the amazing event, and for giving us the opportunity and the platform to meet everyone, and to showcase our innovative products and services to industry professionals.
